In 2001, he won a Grammy Award for "I said you lied" by Gladys Knight, from the "At Last" Album. He was also nominated for Album of the Year for Baby Face's, "The Day", as well as Aaron Neville's, "To make me who I am".
In 2004, Spalter was nominated for the fourth time for writing and producing "Whatever you want" by Christina Milian.
