He started his career under the name Intelligent Hoodlum in the late 1980s and released albums like Intelligent Hoodlum (1990) and Tragedy: Saga of a Hoodlum (1993).
A key figure in the Queensbridge rap scene, he mentored acts such as Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N) and was pivotal in defining the "reality rap" subgenre. His work as a producer on C-N-N's debut album, The War Report, cemented his legacy in hardcore hip-hop.
